The West Bridgford Sunday 6-a-side Football League kicked off with an action-packed week 1, that saw teams from both the Premier League and Division 1 divisions clashing in fierce competition. We were delighted to welcome so many new teams to the league.
In the Premier League division, Cash Money FC started the season by making a statement, trouncing Gam-notts FC 11-5 in a match marked by spectacular performances. Win Or Booze also started strong, taking down Harry Poole FC 4-2 in a closely contested match. UASN and Inter Yanan shared the spoils in an evenly matched 2-2 draw, while The Tombliboos claimed a 2-0 victory against Blue Lock In FC.
The highlight of the opening week in the Premier League was undoubtedly Inter Yanan's Anton, who led the division's scoring charts with two spectacular goals, earning him the title of top scorer for the week.
In Division 1, Rushcliffe Rangers were overpowered by Zouma Kicks Gittens, falling 2-5. Sweet Yams and Hyson Green battled to a 3-3 draw in an intense encounter. However, the most stunning performance came from TBC FC who handed 11-1 defeat to Inter Space.
Dan Jenkins of TBC FC was the star of Division 1. With a whopping four goals to his name, Jenkins led his team to a resounding victory and claimed the top scorer title for Division 1.
We wish all teams the very best of luck for next week's fixtures.
