Grimsby Tuesday 6-a-side: We have two of our champs!

As an exciting season of the Grimsby Tuesday 6-a-side league approaches the end next week, this round saw some more great games as we found out our champions in the Premier League and Division 2.

In the top flight, Romasexuals sealed the title with a sensational performance, claiming their 8th win in 8 games, as they carved open FastTrackCarWash to win 15-1 in the only official game of the division. Tip End FC have secured second place after a great season as well, despite not having a game this week.

The title race in Division 1 remains wide open heading into the final matchday, as Egg Fried Reus managed to close the gap to the top of the table with a 3-1 win over Kinky Konate. 

They were helped massively by Ballpark Madrid, who put in a resilient showing against leaders Johnings Jennings to hold them to a 1-1 draw. Brexit Ballers earned a vital 2-1 win over Pepper Shniffers to climb out of the drop zone. Only one point separates the top two, and they face off against each other next week for the crown. It can’t get any more exciting.

Division 2 leaders 2 Goals 1 Cup had already sealed the title despite being handed a 0-5 loss due to their unavailability this week. Their terrific season means they have secured promotion and the division win, however, the race for second is still alive between Real Vets and Lahmagedon. Stoke Titty cruised to a 3-0 win over Swoxi FC to climb out of the bottom two.
