A.W FC CHAMPIONS OF HAVANT 6 A SIDE

Another successful season of 6 a side reaches it's conclusion in Havant and we have new champions in both divisions. Massive congratulations to Morgan and his team A.W FC on winning the premier league title, 4 points clear of last seasons champions Cardiac Arrest. It was a brilliant effort for A.W to drop only one point all season and they are worthy champions, rounding off their season with a points win as Puff Puff Pass couldn't get there. Cardiac Arrest did all they could to keep the pressure on with a 3 - 1 win over Westy but they must settle for the runners up spot this time around. At the other end of the table Swan FC picked up a great win against Farlington but it wasn't enough to pull themselves off the bottom of the table. Last seasons Div 2 winners were thrust into the top flight when we had to restructure to 2 divisions but hopefully now they will find their level and have a few more competitive games. The same can be said for Six Bells and Peter File, both of whom took mid season places in the top flight when they would have preferred Division One, they will now get the chance to play at that level and we hope they have a great 1st full season next term. Rapid Decline enjoyed a 5 - 1 win over MK Dongs to finish the season just a point behind them, both nestled safely in the mid table positions.

The Golden Boot award is shared this season between Kian Bartram of MK Dongs and Ethan Rose from Farlingtons X1, both players finding the back of the net 18 times throughout the season, well played lads, your trophies have been ordered!

Into Division One where we had a number of teams that would have expected to have played Div Two this season but it actually proved to be more competitive than expected. Great British Paving led most of the way but swooping in over the last few weeks to take the title were H & W Pigeons who take the trophy by just a point in the end following a great 7 - 4 win over Meat FC. GBP did all they could with a brilliant 11 - 0 win against 3rd placed LP Underdogs but it was too little too late. They will play in the top flight next season but must settle for going up as runners up. Island FC had a tidy season picking up 12 points and finished strongly with a 7 - 2 victory over Willian Your Mouth. Bottle Jobs will also be pleased, finishing 5th and ending with a good 3 - 1 win over WhatDivock who find themselves propping up the table. The final game saw Kye Rvers take on Westleigh Rovers and with Kye Rovers starting the season strongly they will be pleased to have turned around their recent form to have ended well with a 5 - 0 win, both sides will i think be pleased to be going back to 3 divisions for the new season.

Simon Batey takes the golden boot for Division One, the GBP player remaining 3 clear of 2nd placed Pat Needham despite having to sit out the final game of the season due to ill discipline. We all hope to see him focusing on the goal scoring next season when he tests himself in the higher division.

As mentioned above, we have some new teams on board so will be reverting to our preferred format of 3 divisions of 8 teams, I will be releasing the fixtures and divisions tomorrow so you can be well prepared before Mondays kick off.

I just want to finish by saying thank you to all the team captains and managers for organising your teams and being ready for your matches each Monday Night, we have had issues with unreliable teams in the past but I feel that the teams we have now are all fully committed and ready to push on with more of the same in the new season. Also I'd like to take a moment to thank Mike, Mark, Nathan, Jack and Tom all of whom have refed and managed games this season, I hope you as players realise how good these guys are, we are very lucky to have all of them involved in this league so lets make sure everyone plays with respect for them at all times and the league will run very smoothly as a result.

Congratulations to our winners and runners up this season, I can't wait for the new one this week, good luck to all our teams. It's going to be awesome.
