CARDIAC CHAMPIONS OF HAVANT

We wrapped up another season of 6 a side in Havant last night and I think its fair to say it's been the best season so far, full of drama and competitive games throughout so well done to all our teams and especially the captains who do an awesome job of keeping their teams together.

Big congratulations to Cardiac Arrest for securing another title, for a while it looked like Westy might run them close but the 4 point gap in the end was well deserved and they will go into the new campaign confident of retaining their crown despite the return of a couple of former rivals in Don't Go Nowhere and A.W.FC. As these two both joined the league late in the season we have decided to keep them in the top flight for the new season with the promoted teams from Div One both happy to stay in the division for another season. The Division One season was unreal, Smashers finish top by just 2 points having got the results they needed last night to fend off the challenge from Kye Rovers who must settle for 2nd place. Meat FC and Rapid Decline were both only a point behind them too. Only Hangover and Bottle Jobs were off the pace and drop to Division Two next season.

They will be replaced by Bub Bub and AFC Mole Hill who both win promotion with Bub Bub the champions. WLR Utd take the drop to Division 3 along with Barely Athletic who are still finding their feet in the league and will enjoy the lower division.

It was only goal difference that came between the top two in Division 3 with Westleigh Rovers benifiting from some good results earlier in the season to secure the title win just ahead of Peter File X1. Tekkerslovakia finish 3rd in a good season for them.

The golden boot trophies this season go to Ben Johnson of Cardiac Arrest with 14 in the prem, Jake Snook netted 26 for Smashers in Div One, AFC Mole Hill's Ben Horne claims the boot in Div Two with 15 and Gary Davies of Westleigh Rovers was top of the Div 4 list with his 17 goals for the season.

I know I mention them a lot but it's with good reason, our team of refs this season have been amazing. Mike and his team manage match nights perfectly, creating a real event for our teams each Monday night, we thank them for that and I know as a group of players you guys respect them which is really important in our leagues.

Well done again to the winners and good luck to everyone for the new season starting on Monday.
