As the Havant Monday Football League got underway this week, local teams across four divisions took to the pitch, showcasing a blend of passion and sporting prowess.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Berewood United set the tone for the season with a dominating 3-0 win over Smashers. In an evenly contested match, Old Boys FC narrowly missed out to Clem Fandangoal FC, losing 4-3. Frankie McMullan of Clem Fandangoal FC emerged as the top scorer, netting four goals and securing an early lead in the division's top scorer race.
DIVISION TWO
Over in Division 2, Young Boys FC edged AFC Squids in a 2-1 victory, while Misfits overpowered Saka Spuds 6-2. Punjab Alliance also made a promising start with a 2-1 win over Cuties CF Mon. Misfit's Gary Gibson stood out with two goals, making him the leading scorer of the division.
DIVISION THREE
Division 3 saw some remarkable performances as well, with Dip Dip securing a commanding 6-1 victory over Wafty Wanders FC. Sum Ting Wong kicked off their season with a 2-1 win over Inter YaNan. Morgan Edwards of Dip Dip, with his spectacular hat-trick, was not only the top scorer for the division but also earned the coveted tag of the "most valued player" of the week.
DIVISION FOUR
In Division 4, Man Tity set a record with a 12-0 thrashing of Havant A Clue, marking the most significant win margin of the week. Isaac White was the star of the show, scoring four goals and leading the division's goal tally.
With the season just having started, all teams now look towards the next round of fixtures, providing an exciting week for the football fanatics in Havant. The passion, intensity, and competitive spirit displayed promise a thrilling season ahead in the Havant Monday Football League.
