NEW SEASON UNDERWAY IN HAVANT

In an electrifying start to the Havant Monday football season, a six-a-side showdown witnessed the cream of the local teams vying for victory in the first week. The teams were again split into three divisions based on last seasons promotion and relegation, with a few new teams fed in to fill the gaps: Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 are all set for another epic season of passionate 6 a side football in Havant. 


In Division 1, Champions Puff Puff Pass secured a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Rapid Decline, with the most valued player of the week, Ben Thomas, leading the charge. Last seasons runners up Westy United also made a powerful statement, defeating Leigh Park United 6-0, is this the seasons that Westy finally get their hands on the top prize ? Their top scorer, Toby Appleby, will be hoping so as he netted 3 goals for his side to get them off to a flying start. Promoted team Giroud Sandstorm narrowly missed out to Misfits in a thrilling game that went the distance and left everyone hanging. 5-4 the final score to Misfits but what a game to start the campaign for both teams. 

Division 2 saw its share of dynamic action as well. Westleigh Rovers triumphed over Flamingo FC with a 3-1 win, while Pathetico Athletico were too strong for Saka Spuds who went down 8-0. Kye Rovers and Emsworth 6s both secured 3-1 victories over AFC Mole Hill and Guilty Sigurdsson respectively. Division 2's top scorer for the night was Albie Mizen, who stood out from the crowd with a hat trick for Kye Rovers.

In Division 3, Meat FC clinched victory over new side RiDickless 6 with a comfortable 6-1 score, while Murder On Zidanes Floor's debut went slightly better as they dispatched Barely Athletic with a 4-0 win. AFC Mole Patrol triumphed over another team playing their 1st game. Old Aged Leigh Park Tigers succumbing 4-2 at the final whistle. Sheffield Monday rounded off the action with a 3-0 win over Pathetico Athletico 2nds and they look like being strong contenders in the division this season. Owen Murray from AFC Mole Patrol earned the distinction of top scorer in Division 3 with his astounding 4 goals.

So the new season has kicked off to a roaring start, with teams and players already sparking excitement and anticipation for the weeks ahead. For the new teams there is fitness to work on, getting up to match speed can take time but it will come so enjoy the journey and welcome to the league.
