SEASON OVER WITH CARDIAC TOP OF THE PILE AGAIN

Well there we have it, the end of a challenging season for us all at Havant as our Monday Night 6 a side campaign concludes with Cardiac Arrest retaining their prem title and going the whole season undefeated. Puff Puff Pass are again the Bridesmaids, 5 points adrift and Westy finish 3rd. It was a frustrating season for us all, especially in the top division with a number of teams jumping ship when the kick off times were changed. Maybe we should have acted sooner in shortening the matches to get everyone away earlier and hopefully a couple of teams might return for the new season now we are more settled in the format of our match nights. It was nice to welcome Rapid Decline back for a few games at the end of this season, they will look to be a strong part of the new season as we reshuffle the pack to get everyone playing where they should be.

Whilst the prem was settled some time ago it was very different in Division One with 3 teams pushing hard to secure the promotion places and to ultimately be crowned as champions. Heading into the night Kye Rovers, in seasrch of back to back titles looked odds on to take a place at the top table with another shiney trophy under their arms but it shows what a funny sport football can be as a tight 3 - 2 defeat last week and a surprise 7 - 1 collapse last night has left them wondering what could have been. They finish 3rd, behind Six Bells on goal difference with their final night 1 - 1 draw with Emsworth enough to leapfrog into 2nd and earn promotion. Proudly going up as champions are OAP's who did what they needed to this week to make sure they reached the prem and with a good run of recent form they are deserved winners of the Division One title so well played to them. AFC Mole Hill also ended with a draw in their final game against RCFC, 2 - 2 the score in that one with the point not enough to stop The Moles dropping to Division Two along with Hurricanes. Their places in the division will be taken by Bottle Jobs anf Meat FC who have both earned promotion from Div Two with Bottle Jobs taking the title after a brilliant season. The champions finished 4 points clear but it was tight behind them with Meat FC only finishing ahead of Tekkerslovakia on goal difference after the 3rd placed team inflicted defeat on their rivals last night in a brilliant game that ended 3 - 2. Westleigh Rovers finish outside the bottom two following a last game win against WhatDivock while Peter File slid into the bottom 2 after defeat to Willian Your Mouth.

The golden Boot races throw up a few familiar names with Ben Johnson again taking the prem award but this season he shares it with Oli Page from Puff Puff Pass, both with 32 goals while Tommy Stevens captures the Div One boot with 24 goals for Six Bells Vets and Bailey Kerridge of Meat FC wins the Div Two award on 15 goals. The prestigious MVP award this season goes to one of our team captains and a man who lives out his dream of playing at Westleigh Park every Monday night. An absolute rock for Westy Utd and a huge asset to this league, well played to Ash Hyson.

Well done to all our winners and thank you to our captains for doing a great job in getting sides out each week. As always I save the biggest thanks for the end and it goes to Mike, Nathan, Jack and Mark who do an incredible job in managing match nights for us, we really couldn't ask more of them and hearing such positive feedback from the players about our officials is really heart warming so keep up the great work guys and lets hope for a more settled season ahead.

Obviously we would love to get some new teams in for the new season and so i won't be rushing to sort the fixtures just yet, we do restart on Monday but im hanging on for a few new teams before confirming the structure of the league. We would like to keep 3 divisions of 8 but if we don't have the teams there will be a rethink. Anyway, this will all come out soon.

Any new teams looking to get involved can do so and join us for the new season, it's quite a good bunch of lads down at Havant, you would be made very welcome!

Get in touch, get signed up and be part of our new season starting on Monday 14th November.
