Elite Edge Closer To Title in Heavitree

Despite the slightly sombre mood across the country this week our players all managed to put in a great shift for their 5 a side teams last night. Many thanks to Neil and the early teams for observing a few moments silence in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II before kick off.

On the pitch it was a great night for leaders The Elite who saw their rivals and title challengers beaten before going to work and securing a big win for themselves to open up a 3 point gap at the top of the table. Captain Marc Joslin was on target with 5 for his side , keeping himself top of the golden boot race as his team came away 12 - 2 winners in game 11 of 14 in the season. Defeat to Touched By Gough serves as a major blow to Oldham Pathetic's title chances, they went down 5 - 1 and will now have to hope that The Elite have a couple of bad nights in the run in to close the gap. Steau Needarest won 6 - 1 against TBC, Casey Price netting his 1st Leisure Leagues goal for TBC but they were 2nd best on the night.  In the final game we saw a bucket load of goals, 16 in fact as Scorinbread ran out 9 - 5 winners against Exeter Gently to keep the heat on the top two in the league.

Thanks again to all our teams, especially the captains for getting your sides together, we will be running next Sunday as normal, with Monday now being a Bank Holiday so Please prepare for your games, huge thanks to Neil as always and good luck next week guys.
