In the opening week of Exeter Sunday Football League, teams from both the Premier League and Division 1 segments delivered a spectacular show of skill, teamwork, and strategy. The fresh season has started, and it's already brimming with excitement and anticipation.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League division, Scorinbread United set the bar high with an astounding 12-1 victory over Roddys Roundup. This remarkable win was, in no small part, thanks to the exceptional performance by Ollie Northam, who netted 4 goals for his team, becoming the top scorer for this division in week 1.
The scoreboard was lit up equally in the Ottery Oxes and Dusty Ballers game, which concluded with a thrilling 7-7 draw, widening the competition in the Premier League.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, some noteworthy results were on display. Goon Goblins had a comfortable win against 1561 United, ending the match at 7-2, but the standout performance came from team IDIDYAMOTHERWELL, who thrashed Bonsai United with a score of 13-4. Jay Woodward, the star player for IDIDYAMOTHERWELL, outshone everyone by scoring an impressive total of 5 goals, making him the top scorer in Division 1.
Elsewhere in Division 1, Stella Fellas took down 5 Guys 1 Cup FC with an authoritative 15-6 scoreline, setting an exciting precedent for the rest of the season.
The most valued player for the week, without a doubt, was Jay Woodward from IDIDYAMOTHERWELL, who not only showcased his scoring prowess but also demonstrated exceptional skill on the field. His performance has undoubtedly set the pace for the season.
The Exeter Sunday Football League has kicked off to a sensational start. The teams have set a high standard for the season, and it will be exciting to see how the rest of the matches unfold.
