In an exhilarating week of football, the Exeter Sunday 5-a-side league has seen some exceptional performances across the divisions, with teams vying for the top spots in their respective leagues.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League division, a standout game saw Scorinbread United trounce Dusty Ballers 10-4, with A.J of Scorinbread United bagging an impressive four goals to be named top scorer in the division. Further adding to the excitement, Smeg United claimed a victory against IDIDYAMOTHERWELL with a score of 5-3 but the highlight of the Premier League was undoubtedly the Bikini Bottom Boys, who demonstrated a dominant performance to win 8-2 against Steau Needarest.
DIVISION ONE
Moving over to Division 1, Bonsai United secured a commanding victory over Multiple Scoregasms, ending the match at 10-5. The most gripping match of Division 1 saw Mboomby UTD and Barely Athletic finish with a draw at 7-7. However, it was 5 Guys 1 Cup FC who commanded the spotlight in Division 1, with an impressive 11-8 victory over Queens Park Strangers 2. Their success was in no small part due to B.S, who netted an outstanding seven goals to be named top scorer in the Division 1.
The most valued player of the week was Miles Barron of Smeg United, whose performance on the pitch was nothing short of exemplary, contributing to Smeg United's victory in the Premier League division. Barron's efforts did not go unnoticed, earning him the accolade and the admiration of his peers.
The Exeter Sunday league continues to deliver top-quality grassroots football, showcasing the talents of local players and providing thrilling matches for spectators. With the season heating up, we eagerly await the next round of matches.
