SUNDAY NIGHT 5 A SIDE - HEAVITREE, EXETER

As our national team put in their final preparations ahead of the their World Cup opener our 5 a side teams went to work for round 7 of our season at Heavitree Social Club. All teams were there as usual and some brilliant matches took place as we reach the half way point in the campaign.

Leaders Oldham Pathetic stretched out in front with a big win over Chevalier United, Craig Allington adding to his personal goal tally with 9 as his team racked up a 20 - 2 win. The Elite sit 3 points behind after being held to a 6 - 6 draw by Fatzio who continue to impress since joining the set up a few weeks ago. Scorinbread remain 3rd despite a defeat to 4th placed Peakers Athletic who had 4 goals from Toby Richards to thank for their 6 - 3 win. Streau Needarest moved further away from the bottom two with a solid 5 - 0 win against St Annes Wanderers to wrap up another good evening of games, all under the keen eye of our ref and supervisor Neil who had another great night in charge.

Thanks to all our teams for being there, especially the captains for organising their sides and being ready to go. Good luck for next weekend and enjoy the World Cup games in between.
