Chatham Monday 5 a side season gets underway!
CHATHAM MONDAY 5 A SIDE SEASON KICKS OFF!
In the opening week of the highly-anticipated Chatham Monday 5-A-Side Football League, teams across four divisions locked horns in a thrilling display of skill, strategy and determination. A fresh start for all teams involved with promoted teams testing themselves at a higher level and relegated sides looking to bounce back!
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, powerhouses Bligh A Side dominated newly promoted Mac's 3.0 with a 4-0 victory. Champions AC ME Rollin' showcased their offensive prowess in an 8-0 triumph over Dynamo Chicken Kiev FC and another promoted side Goals Aloud outmatched Pheasant Pluckers in a 7-2 win. The Premier League's standout performer was Benjamin Carlile of AC ME Rollin', who netted a hat-trick.
DIVISION ONE
Division 1, Beercelona clinching a 6-1 victory against promoted Scottswood. Cadiz Nuts CF edged out Rapid Viagra in a nail-biting 4-3 finish, and Nigel Bens XI ran riot with a 13-1 win against Snus Warriors. Ronnie Tidman of Nigel Bens XI was the star of the show, scoring an impressive six goals.
DIVISION TWO
In Division 2, Borstal Bums outplayed Obi Wan Iwobi with a 5-3 victory on the night as there two promoted side renewed their rivalry. Gayson Mount secured a 4-2 win over Skinners FC while Get Your Scally Out FC steamrolled Nutty Sauce FC with a 5-0 victory. Devon Medhurst of Borstal Bums led the charge with two goals.
DIVISION THREE
Finally, in Division 3, the Holcombe Goons triumphed over Cokane United with a 5-2 victory, Unathletico Madrid beat Maroon 5 in a 6-2 win and Workrate FC left no stone unturned in a 10-1 victory against Barely Athletic. Suraj Rangi of Workrate FC left his mark on the league with three goals.
The season has just begun, and these results set the tone for an exhilarating and competitive series of matches to come. With the top scorers already making their mark, the stage is set for an engaging battle throughout the divisions.
