Great start to the new season at Chatham Monday 5 a side

It was an excellent start to the new season in our extended Chatham Monday night 5 a side league at Holcombe Grammar School. All 15 teams were in attendance for the opening night. We do have one space left to fill so any new teams looking to join get registered now online and get started next week.

There was a familiar name at the top of the Prem after the opening round of fixtures as reigning champions Skinners FC went top on goal difference. Reece and Isaac scored four a piece as they won 10-5 against Macs 3.0. Meat Heads picked up a points match win due to the remaining space in the Prem to go second. Pheasant Pluckers (formerly Maradona Kebab) started with a win as they defeated new team Skindogs Little Sausage FC 5-3, Mitch Ball was on the goal trail again last night with 4 of Pluckers goals. The other match saw newly promoted Walderslade Wonderers put in a good performance on their Premier League debut despite going down 5-3 to AC Me Rollin, Rollin will be hoping to mount a serious title challenge this campaign.

Crossley went straight to the top of Div 1 as they began their title challenge with a 10-1 win over Woodbleak, captain Dextter Roberts scoring 5 of their goals. The other three games were much tighter as new team Special Olympiakos went second with a 4-2 victory against Get Your Scally Out FC, Scottswood started their first game back in Div 1 with a thrilling 5-4 win over Gylfi Pleasures while two other new teams The Sniffers and Dirt Washers drew 2-2.
