New 3 division Chatham Monday 5 a side season kicks off!

The new season kicked off at Holcombe Grammar School last night as our Chatham Monday 5 a side league expanded to 3 divisions.

Last season's Premier League runners up AC Me Rollin installed themselves in top spot with a 8-0 win over promoted Special Olympiakos, Ben Frost with 4 goals. Champions Cats On Tour started their defence of the title with a 7-4 win against Skinners, special mention for the Skinners keeper who I hear took a ball straight to the face, hope it's not to sore today. Div 1 Champions Scottswood started life in the top flight with a good 4-3 win over Pheasant Pluckers, Steve Brace with a hat-trick for the home side.

Crossley were in fine form as they got their Div 1 campaign off to a flyer with a 10-0 win over Woodbleak, Jack scoring 4 times while Dextter Roberts banged a hat-trick before sadly rolling his ankle, we of course wish him a speed recovery. Adam Matthews was on the scoresheet 5 times as The Sniffers won 10-3 against Macs while new team SuttonOnMyFace beat The General 6-4.

Dirt Washers went top of the new Div 2 table with a 5-2 victory against MrsBrandtsBoys, Kenny with a hat-trick. Gylfi Pleasures who will be strong favourites for this division and they opened it up with a 4-1 win over Get Your Scally Out. Last but not least congratulations to Workrate FC who played last season in the Prem, they recorded their first win as they defeated new team Borstal FC 4-3. Credit to Workrate who didn't quit when it would of been easy to do that, playing the likes of Cats and AC every week isn't easy.

Thank you to Ash and his team of referee's, good luck on match day 2 next week. Thanks Rich 07969 731086.
