New expanded Chatham Monday 5 a side season kicks off!

We kicked off the new season at our Chatham Monday 5 a side league last night at Thinking Fitness. We have been able to extend the league to three divisions of 8 although we do still have a space to fill in each one. If you'd like to grab one of the remaining spots please get your team registered today. All teams were in attendance for the season opener, it was amazing to see all four pitches being used for the first time and also great to see the league expanding from just 8 teams a few season's ago to 21 now and hopefully 24 soon. Thank you to Ash for all his efforts on match night's and to all our captains for organising your teams every week.

PREMIER LEAGUE

It's always hard to read how a division is going to go after one round of games but there were some excellent games in the Prem on match day one. Newly promoted Bligh A Side picked up a good win at Pheasant Pluckers while there were wins for Cats On Tour and new boy's Skitz Aces while champions AC Me Rollin picked up a points match win. Ozan Cinar (Bligh A Side) and Adam Holbrook (Skitz Aces) go top of the Golden Boot chart with 4 goals each.

Pheasant Pluckers 3 - 6 Bligh A Side

Ji Sung Park The Bus 3 - 6 Cats On Tour

Skitz Aces 7 - 5 2Gara FC

DIVISION ONE

Beercelona installed themselves in top spot with a resounding away win at Div 2 champions Skinners. The other two league games were thrillers with new boy's Cadiz Nuts CF winning against Scottswood while Old Willies and Zidane's shared the points. Cantium picked up a points match win. There were plenty of hat-trick scorers in Div 1 with Lewis Allan (Old Willies), Ricky Fernandez (Scottswood) and Harry Elswood (Cadiz Nuts FC) all finding the back of the net three times. They were upstaged by both Ryan Scott (MOZF) and Matt Sadler (Beercelona) who went one better with four.

Old Willies 4 - 4 Murder On Zidane's Floor

Skinners FC 1 - 7 Beercelona

Scottswood 5 - 6 Cadiz Nuts FC

DIVISION TWO

Mac's 3.0 who dropped down to Div 2 following relegation last season began their route back to Div 1 in fine style with a big win over MrsBrandtsBoys. Woodbleak and Dirt Washers also kicked off their campaigns with victories while Get Your Scally Out had a points match win. Mac's captain Nathan Daniels installed himself in as the firm favourite for the Golden Boot with 7 goals in their win while team-mate Scott Fleming grabbed a hat-trick.

Woodbleak 4 - 1 Gayson Mount

Workrate FC 1 -2 Dirt Washers

MrsBrandtsBoys 3 - 14 Macs 3.0
