Chatham Thursday 5 a side news | WEEK 1

The highly anticipated Chatham Thursday 5-a-side football league commenced last night, with exhilarating goal-filled encounters in both Division 1 and Division 2. The inaugural week of the season saw some exhilarating displays of football, setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable season.

DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Bendher Rovers FC announced their title intentions in emphatic fashion, trouncing Holcombe Legends 12-4. It was a thrilling display of attacking football, helmed by the sublime Byron Nichols. Nichols, who netted an impressive five goals, emerged as the top scorer of the division in week one, dazzling fans with his footwork and lethal finishing. Elsewhere in Division 1, Medway 90 secured a 7-4 victory over Inter Yer Nan, adding to the night's goal fest.

DIVISION TWO
Division 2 saw its share of drama too. An evenly contested match between Warren Wood Wanderers and Rochester FC ended in a 4-4 stalemate. The excitement continued as Deeney FC edged out Perrys 6-4, thanks to the heroics of ‘Jack'. Jack, who scored a whopping four goals, topped the scoring charts for Division 2, announcing his arrival in style. Finally, Lads On Toure started their campaign on a high note, dismantling Bonnies Men In Blue 5-1.

The season has just begun, but the early fireworks have set the stage for an electrifying competition.
