Football fever has taken over Chatham with the commencement of the much-anticipated Chatham Thursday 5-a-side Football League. The inaugural week witnessed some fierce competition with teams across the Division 1 and Division 2 vying for an early lead in the season.

DIVISION ONE

In Division 1, the spotlight fell on 'Bonnies Men In Blue' and 'Rochester FC', with a close-knit game that saw Bonnies Men In Blue edge out their rivals 5-4, in what turned out to be a sensational start to the season. 'Double Pogba And Koke' showcased a dominant display, outscoring 'Radar Raiders' 10 - 2. Meanwhile, 'Medway 90' triumphed over 'Inter Yer Nan' with a 5 - 1 victory, setting the pace for the rest of the season.

Steering clear to the Division 1 spotlight, Brad Taylor of 'Bonnies men in blue' showcased an extraordinary performance, bagging a total of 5 goals, crowning him the top scorer of the week in Division 1.

Meanwhile, Division 2 also saw some high-scoring affairs. 'Bendher Rovers FC' emerged as the clear winners in their clash against 'Warren Wood Wanderers', racking up 10 goals against a lonely 1. 'Shades Of Skill' defeated 'Lads On Toure' 8 - 5, whereas 'Deeney FC' ended the week with a solid 4 - 1 win against 'Perrys'.

In a remarkable display, Ben Hall of 'Bendher Rovers FC' emerged as the top scorer in Division 2, netting a total of 6 goals in the inaugural week.
