The eagerly anticipated Chatham Thursday Football League commenced last night, with players showing outstanding performances in the very first week of the season.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, the matches were charged with intensity and determination. Net6 N Chill delivered an impressive 7-1 victory over Inter Yer Nan, led by their star player Tyler Bell. Bell found the back of the net five times, earning himself the honorable title of the top scorer of the division. Rochester FC fought a tough match against Bendher Rovers FC but fell short at a 3-6 scoreline. Meanwhile, Double Pogba and Koke had a nail-biting, closely contested match against Radar Raiders and emerged victorious with a 4-3 result.
DIVISION TWO
The action moved to Division 2, where each team gave their all. Medway 90 dominated their match against Perrys, sealing a 7-0 victory. In a high-scoring game, Shades Of Skill outscored Rice Spice 10-1. Saka Potatoes played against Mac 4 in a thrilling encounter that saw Mac 4 winning by 7-4. This victory was significantly propelled by Nathan Daniels, who netted four goals to bag the title of top scorer in Division 2.
However, the player who stole the spotlight was Harry Phoenix of Bendher Rovers FC. His strategic gameplay, exceptional skills, and contribution to his team's victory shone bright, making him the most valued player of the week.
Overall, the first week of the Chatham Thursday Football League season was filled with high spirits and remarkable skills. With the original and unique team names, to the thrilling games and noteworthy individual performances, this season has started with great promise.
