Last night marked the thrilling action of week 9 in the Chatham Thursday 5-a-side football league, with stunning performances and some surprising upsets.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, the standout performance of the night was from Net6 N Chill, who handed a significant defeat to the Radar Raiders, finishing the match with an impressive 11-0 scoreline. This dominant performance was largely thanks to top scorer Tyler Bell who netted a total of 6 goals, proving to be a nightmare for the Raider's defence.
However, the competition was tighter in the other Division 1 matches. Mac 4 and Rice Spice battled it out in a nail-biting clash that saw Rice Spice eke out a 5-4 victory. Elsewhere, Kent Kings and Rochester FC ended in a deadlock with a 3-3 draw, featuring an exemplary performance from Sam Cackett of Kent Kings, who was named the most valued player of the week.
DIVISION TWO
Moving on to Division 2, Saka Potatoes and Perrys found themselves evenly matched, resulting in a 3-3 draw. However, the highlight of the division was the contest between Medway 90 and Double Pogba and Koke. It was a tough night for Medway 90, who suffered a heavy 5-1 loss. Rhys Nolan of Double Pogba and Koke stood out as the top scorer in Division 2 with 2 goals.
As the league progresses into week 10, all teams in both divisions will undoubtedly be aiming to build on their performances, making for another week of gripping football action.
Many thanks to the referees for managing another strong night of football!
