The passion, energy, and intensity on display during the 9th week of the Chatham Thursday 5-a-side football league were second to none. Fans were treated to a plethora of goals, some sensational performances, and a few upsets as teams battled for supremacy in Division 1 and Division 2.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, the Net6 N Chill team proved their mettle by claiming a resounding 9-3 victory against Radar Raiders. With Tyler Bell finding the back of the net thrice, he moved to the top of the scorer's chart for the division. His clinical finishes were key in securing the victory for his team.
However, not all games had such a wide margin. Bendher Rovers FC narrowly edged past Double Pogba and Koke, with the final scoreline reading 3-2. Meanwhile, Inter Yer Nan outclassed Rochester FC with a dominant 7-1 victory, clearly showing their intent for the season.
DIVISION TWO
The Division 2 games were equally exciting. Saka Potatoes and Perrys ended their game in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Medway 90, with their high-octane gameplay, defeated Rice Spice 8-4. The highlight of the division, however, was the clash between Mac 4 and Shades of Skill. The latter team ran riot, scoring 7 goals to Mac 4's 3.
Manuell Marfo, who scored twice for Shades of Skill, took the honor of being the top scorer in Division 2. But the most valued player of the week was Ben Phillips, whose sterling performance for Shades of Skill earned him accolades from fans and pundits alike.
As the league continues, it will be interesting to see how the teams adjust their strategies and formations to improve their standings. One thing is for sure, the audience can expect more thrilling matches in the coming weeks.
Thanks again to the referees, their commitment is greatly appreciated!
