In the inaugural week of the Horwich Monday 6-a-side Football league, Division 1 witnessed a flurry of high octane matches, punctuated by impressive performances and nail-biting finishes. As the new season unfolded, several teams battled it out on the pitch, showcasing their football prowess.

Opening the week was a gritty encounter between Juice Me FC and Helmet Boys. Both teams exhibited a defensive masterclass with the match eventually ending in a goalless draw. Another closely contested match saw The Local Idiots and Aspull Villa battle it out to a 0-0 draw. These games were testaments to the strategic mindset of the teams.

However, the highlight of the week was the thrilling match between Lemon FC and FillmewithMorecambe. Lemon FC claimed a narrow victory, ending the game on a high note with a 2-1 scoreline.

In another riveting encounter, Lost Stock FC put up a valiant fight but eventually succumbed to Murder On Zidanes Floor in a 2-1 finish. Washamachine emerged victorious over Blackrod Phoenixes in a 4-2 goal fest.

Washamachine's star player, Oliver McKnight, was named the most valued player of the week. With his exceptional skills and determination, McKnight was instrumental in his team's emphatic win.

The top scorer of Division 1 was Sam Duffy, also from Washamachine, who found the back of the net twice in the opening week.
