DFA have one hand on Swindon Monday six a side title

It was another great night of action in the Swindon Monday six a side football league at Kingsdown School. As expected, every team was in attendance. There were some great games between some top sides. However, with  only two games left it is now more or less confirmed that the new champions of the league will be DFA. 

In the opening game of the night Tidy Box knew that only a victory could Lee alive their slim hopes of retaining their title. They did everything they possibly could and secured a very impressive 7-2 win. They showed once again what a brilliant footballing side they are but unfortunately this season it looks like they will come up just short. 

Game 2 was much more intense as What’s the Story Kolo Toure looked to get back to winning ways against Select Few FC. Unfortunately it was another narrow defeat as they suffered a 3-2 defeat. Select Few have impressed since joining the league during lockdown and will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with next season.

Game 3 saw Swinn secure a solid win against the five men of Social Distance FC. Swinn climb above Class A Team while Social Distance stay firmly rooted to the bottom of the table. 

The final game of the night saw DFA do what they have so often done this season and win. They looked totally in control as they secured a 4-0 win. They have only dropped two points all season and know that two points from their last two games will secure them the title. 

We now take a week off over the bank holiday. Games will resume on the 7th September. Then it’s just two weeks until the new season starts. Current teams will need to let me know if they are planning on continuing in the league by the 7th September.
