Tidy box put one hand on Kingsdown six a side title

The season got back underway in the Leisure Leagues Swindon Monday six a side from Kingsdown School last night. It was a great night for Oxford United who convincingly beat their local rivals Swinn. In the crunch game between the top two Tidy Box missed the chance to clinch the title with a draw.

In Game 1 Oxford United took their revenge on Swinn for beating them earlier in the season by recording a crushing 5-0 win against Connor’s boys. The defeat brings Swinn crashing back down to earth after their draw against Tidy Box last time out. More significantly the win helps Oxford United leapfrog Swinn into third place in the league. However, with just one point separating them this private battle is far from over with just two games to go.

In the second game the top two teams went head to head. A win for Tidy Box would ensure they took home the league title while Ooo Thiago Silva needed a win to realistically keep alive their chances of leapfrogging Tidy Box. In the end a draw probably benefitted Tidy Box more as they now have one hand firmly on the league title but it also more or less confirmed Ooo Thiago Silva’s position as runners up after Swinn’s defeat. If the positions stay as they both teams will go into the February prize draw with Tidy Box being in with a chance of winning the £12K holiday to Germany.

The final game of the night should have been between Bumfica and Who Ate All Depays but unfortunately Bumfica did not show. Swinn stepped up and gave Depays a thoroughly entertaining game. Depays ran out 8-1 winners and showed that next season they will be a team more than capable of competition the league when the table is reset and all are on a level playing field.

That concludes the nights action and with only two games remaining in the season the new campaign is just around the corner. If you would like to join the league we are offering new teams free entry, their first game free and a free kit when you join the league. As things stand the league is currently full but you will be in prime position to join the league ahead of the new season when we will hopefully be in a position to extend the league.
