Three becomes two in Swindon Monday six a side

On a freezing cold night in the Leisure Leagues Swindon Monday six a side from Kingsdown School the top two benefitted from points matches to ensure that they remain at the top of the league with 100% records. However in the other game between Swinn and Bumfica a great game saw Bumfica just edge it to move above their rivals and just behind Paragon FC.

The game of the night was a tight and cagey affair. Both teams knew that this game represented their best chance yet to get some points on the board and they wanted to make sure that they did not lose.

As such the momentum swung between the two teams as one pushed on looking for that crucial opening goal, while the other sat back and looked to counter.

The breakthrough eventually came late in the first half when Bumfica took the lead with a well placed shot from a tight angle.

They doubled their lead not long after the break. A long ball was taken down superbly by George who then laid it off for the striker to run on a bury the ball into the back of the net.

To their credit Swinn kept going and with only a few minutes remaining they found the consolation goal that their good play warranted.

Next week Tidy Box have a tricky game against Paragon FC while Thiago Silva face Bumfica. Then the top two go head to head the following week in a game that could go a long way to deciding who will won the inaugural Leisure Leagues Swindon Monday six a side trophy.
