NEW MILDENHALL WEDNESDAY 6 A SIDE SEASON KICKS OFF

The inaugural week of the new season for the Mildenhall Wednesday Football League saw tremendous action on the field in both the Premier League and Division 1, promising an exciting season ahead.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, the Stardawg Steppas faced off against the Casuals, with the latter securing a 4-1 victory. The Casuals' stellar performance was bolstered by their top scorer, Rhys Mazey, who netted two goals for his side. Mazey's impressive performance earned him the title of 'Most Valued Player' for the week, marking a promising start for the player and his team in this season.

In another game, Soham Boys Active emerged victorious against newly promoted Dream Team with a tight 2-1 win. In the third Premier League match, champions Joke Club FC defeated Mclovin FC with a convincing 8-1 victory, sending a strong message to their contenders.

DIVISION ONE

Meanwhile, in Division 1, the games were no less competitive. new boys Mirror Signal Malouda started the season with a narrow 3-2 win over Athletico Pathetico. Lightning FC, ignited by their top scorer, Juan Orrego, who scored four of the eight goals for his team, dominated the pitch against Big Dogs to clinch a resounding 8-3 victory. Ipswich Downies also started their campaign on a high, beating Galacticos FC 3-1.

With week one now behind us, the teams are back to their training grounds, gearing up for what promises to be a challenging season. If the first week's matches are anything to go by, we can expect some thrilling football in the weeks to come.
