Monday 12th June - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

Leisure Leagues Nuneaton Academy Monday 6-a-side league kicked off its second game of the new season with some exciting matches and surprising results. The Premier Division clashes were filled with intense action and noteworthy performances, while Division One showcased the determination of the teams to make their mark. Let's dive into the match reports and relive the thrilling encounters.


Premier Division:


In a clash between two formidable teams, Unreal Madrid faced off against Mass Debaters. Despite Unreal Madrid's best efforts, they struggled to find the back of the net, and Mass Debaters capitalized on their chances. With a remarkable display of skill and wit, Mass Debaters triumphed with a resounding 4-0 victory, leaving Unreal Madrid stunned.


The next match saw Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf taking on Haven't Got a Kalou. Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf, a team that had already shown their potential in the opening game, continued their winning streak by defeating the reigning champions with a scoreline of 3-2. This result surely caught everyone's attention as they proved their mettle against a strong opponent.


Dad Bod Athletic, a newly promoted team, faced off against Lads Army in their quest for the first win of the season. Lads Army lived up to their name, exhibiting their strength and strategy on the field. They emerged victorious with a convincing 4-1 win, leaving Dad Bod Athletic with a tough lesson in the Premier Division.


Division One:


City Boys and Unifabs FC squared off in a match that carried an emotional weight as it was Unifabs FC's last game in the league. Both teams fought tooth and nail, displaying their skills in an exhilarating 3-3 draw. Unifabs FC bid farewell to the league, leaving behind memories of their competitive spirit.


Avon Boyz, a team that impressed in their debut game, faced off against Mick Huffers Seven. Avon Boyz showcased their growing prowess by holding their opponents to a 2-2 draw. Their consistent performances are establishing them as a team to watch out for in the league.


Dodwells 1581, after a goalless draw in their previous game, faced Murder on Zidane's Floor. Both teams displayed strong defensive performances, resulting in yet another 0-0 draw for Dodwells 1581. Their resilient defense may be frustrating for opponents, but they will be eager to convert their chances into goals in the upcoming matches.


Leisure Leagues would like to extend their gratitude to all the teams for their unwavering commitment and reliability in making the league a success. A special mention goes to Unifabs, who have now withdrawn from the league. They will be replaced by a new team called Not The Sunny, who will make their debut on Monday, 19th June.
