Monday 2nd October - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Monday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled across both divisions, the only exception being Dodwells who had some last minute dropouts but return to action on Monday 9th October as normal.

In the Premier League Division, Newdigate United tussled with Only Put Matip In and despite a valiant effort, succumbed to a 3-1 defeat in a well competed game as Matip move up to third.

Elsewhere, a closely fought battle between Scofield Boys and Mass Debaters saw the latter scraping a 2-1 victory. The winning goal came in the last few minutes, marking a dramatic end to what was an intensely fought match, Mass Debaters drop to second on goal difference though.

However, the most notable match of the night was between Haven't Got A Kalou and Lads Army. Haven't Got A Kalou demonstrated a brilliant performance, trouncing Lads Army with a resounding 5-0 victory, a result which sees them move to the summit on goal difference.

Over in Division 1, City Boys locked horns with Not The Sunny in a match that ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Not The Sunny who cement their position at the top of the second division, as they continue to chase promotion.

Unreal Madrid and Murder on Zidane's Floor battled it out in what was arguably one of the most exciting matches of the night. Despite a spirited attempt from Murder on Zidane's Floor, Unreal Madrid emerged victorious with a 2-0 win as the youngsters moved off the foot of the table.
