Monday 4th September - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Nuneaton Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled across both divisions, following the Bank Holiday break.

In the Premier League division, it was a goal-fest as Newdigate United faced off against Haven't Got A Kalou. It was an intense contest that had spectators on the edge of their seats. In the end, Haven't Got A Kalou emerged victorious with a narrow 5-4 victory, thanks as the newly formed Newdigate look like they'll be competitive.

Newly promoted Scofield Boys got their second win in three as they overcame Lads Army in style in a match that ended 6-2, whilst the other recently promoted team Only Matip In were beaten 3-0 by the experienced Mass Debaters.

Over in the Division 1 division, we witnessed some closely fought battles, showcasing the depth of talent in the league. Dad Bod Athletic and City Boys played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw, with both teams showcasing their defensive resilience. Meanwhile, Dodwells 1581 displayed their attacking prowess, securing a confident 2-0 victory over Unreal Madrid. 

In another intriguing matchup, Not The Sunny outclassed Murder On Zidane's Floor, emerging victorious with an impressive 3-0 scoreline. The fans were treated to a display of skilled passing and clinical finishing by Not The Sunny as they look to go one better than last season and clinch promotion this time out.
