Monday 7th August - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

it was a fine end to the season in the Nuneaton Academy Monday 6 a side league this week, as all teams attended for the final week of the campaign, where both divisions titles were still up for grabs.

In the Premier League division, Agger Diouf Diouf Diouf faced off against Lads Army in a highly anticipated match. Both teams displayed great determination and resilience, resulting in a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Mass Debaters fell short against Haven't Got A Kalou, who secured a convincing 2-0 victory.  This result meant that the balance was tipped and Kalou ended up taking a much deserved title for the second season in a row.  Credit to both teams as such an important game was played in competitive yet fair spirit.

In a nail-biting encounter, Unreal Madrid and Dad Bod Athletic battled it out in a 3-3 draw that had spectators on the edge of their seats.

Over in Division 1, Scofield Boys demonstrated their dominance as they triumphed over Murder On Zidane's Floor with a 2-1 victory, crowning themselves champions at the first attempt since joining.

Only Put Matip In will be joining the above in the top division next season, as they showcased their prowess with an impressive 4-0 win against Not The Sunny.

City Boys showed no mercy as they defeated Dodwells 1581 with a commanding 4-1 scoreline.

As the dust settled on an exhilarating season, it was time to crown the champions in each division. Haven't Got A Kalou emerged victorious in the Premier League, securing a total of 17 points and 8 wins throughout the season. Their consistent performances and determined efforts paid off, earning them the title.

In Division 1, it was Scofield Boys who claimed the top spot. With 15 points and 6 wins under their belt, they showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the season, leaving their opponents trailing behind.

We look forward to doing it all over again this season as the new campaign kicks off immediately on Monday 13th August!  Good luck to all teams going into the opening fixture of the campaign.
