Monday 9th June - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was an excellent evening's football in the Nuneaton Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for the final games of the season, barring two cancellations.  WSW and Squid Game return as normal for the new season.

In the Premier League, the highly competitive face-off between Ball Of Duty and Newdigate United resulted in a 1-1 draw. The Manor FC clinched a nail-biting victory against Tooze Nil Up with a scoreline of 2-1, while the Mass Debaters edged out Wootton Street Wanderers in a close 2-1 win. Continuing the trend of close matches, Ruud Man Merky managed to secure a 2-1 victory over Conkers FC. However, it was the game between Nott In Your Mums Forest and Mandy Men that stole the show in the Premier League, ending in a high scoring 5-3 victory for Nott In Your Mums Forest.

Despite the tough competition, Newdigate United emerged victorious in the Premier League division, bagging a total of 28 points and 12 wins, demonstrating their dominance throughout the season.

Over in Division 1, Backstreet Moyes fell short against Shaktar Senseless with a 0-1 defeat. King Street All-Stars triumphed over Inter Ya Nan with an impressive 5-2 win. In addition, Fill Me Wycombe outperformed Gangsters Allardyce, securing a 3-1 victory.

Concluding a thrilling season, Shaktar Senseless emerged as the winners of Division 1 with a total of 28 points and an outstanding 13 wins, showcasing their consistency throughout the season.

As the final whistle blew on the 18th week of the Nuneaton Monday League, both Newdigate United and Shaktar Senseless can bask in their victories, while the rest of the teams recalibrate their strategies for the next season. Their exceptional performances have certainly set the bar high for the impending season. Congratulations to the winners!
