Sunday 14th September - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the Nuneaton Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance barring a couple of cancellations on the day, but all teams are due back as normal for game week 2 of the season.

In the Premier League division, EEFC claimed a decisive 2-0 victory over Ligmatip, setting a strong tone for their campaign this season. As the season unfolds, it will be interesting to see whether this solid start will pave the way for a successful run.

In Division 1, HighAndWideFC emerged as the top scorers of the week, with a convincing 5-2 win against Hardly Athletic. Meanwhile, the face-off between Puyol Pants Down and Barely Athletic ended in a draw, giving both teams a point each to kick off the season.

Over in Division 2, Age Doesn't Mateta demonstrated a high-scoring performance of the night, trouncing Rubbergently by a whopping 11-2. Ricky Spanish FC also secured a 3-1 victory over Borussia Teeth, while Misfits outshone Rainbow Sparkles 5-0 in their opening match.

Finally, in Division 3, Extra Special Ones and Salah-vation Army outscored their respective opponents, Tuffnells FC and Royal Mail-drid, by 5-0 and 6-1 respectively. The match between Tiki Tanaka and Lads On Toure saw a close 3-2 win for the latter.
