Sunday 16th October - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled including two new sides who joined us in the Premier Division and look good additions!

One of the new sides, Ballondora Boys got off to a fine start as they edged past Gylfis Young Boys by 2 goals to 1, whilst the other, Who Ate All Depays took a well earned point off third placed Dixy Pigeons in a game that ended 1 a piece!

League leaders The Allies returned to action this week, and continued where they left off as they were 2-0 winners against Wanyamas In Pyamas, whilst Jack's Army moved up a place to second after an excellent 7-3 victory over Borussia Teeth.

Division One leaders Misfits look well on their way to securing promotion as they raced seven points clear of third place, they were made to work for their win this week though as bottom side Kroos Control put in a great fight, eventually the leaders ran out 3-2 winners.  Sky Blue Army remain second and tucked into the top two by four points after they thrashed Rainbow Sparkles by 7 goals without reply, whilst third placed Extra Special Ones had to settle for a point as they were held to a 2-2 draw by The Invincibles.  Egg Fried Reus completed the action as they moved into fourth position, recovering from defeat last week to cruise to a 4-0 win against Globogym.

We are pleased to see the league full again and thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the table.
