A good evening's football in the Nuneaton Sunday 6 a side league this week overall. We were however disappointed to see a non-attendance from HCU for the second week in a row, despite confirming their return previously. They have now been removed from the league.
In the Premier League division, Norfolk N Chance were the standout performers with a commanding 14-2 victory over The Scoregasms, while Puyol Pants Down edged Stevos Turtle Beach Headset 2-0 in a closely-fought game.
In Division 1, Age Doesnt Mateta ran riot with a 5-1 win over The Ladthsss, and King Street All-Stars dismantled Ricky Spanish FC with a resounding 7-1 victory. The performances suggest a thrilling final two weeks of the season in this division.
Division 2 also delivered its share of excitement. Barely Athletic were outplayed by Ladzio in a 3-0 defeat, Borussia Teeth narrowly prevailed over Salah-vation Army 3-2, and Expected Toulouse fell short against Misfits, losing 2-4 in a goal-heavy match.
In Division 3, Lads On Toure were defeated 2-0 by Extra Special Ones, Rainbow Sparkles triumphed over Tuffnells FC 2-1, and Rubbergently played out a goalless draw with Tiki Tanaka.
With just two weeks left of the season, anticipation is high as teams vie to secure their place for the next season. On the individual front, players are equally eager to claim the top goal scorers' tag in their respective divisions.
The league, true to its reputation, continues to serve up exciting football as it approaches its business end. Expect more fervor, nail-biting moments, and top-drawer football in the coming weeks.
