Sunday 19th March - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled barring Hardly Athletic who gave 7 days notice but return to action on Sunday 26th March.

The Allies FC confirmed the title with a game to spare this week and showed no nerves in doing so, as they thrashed Homo Sissoko out of sight by 9 goals to 1.  Second placed Jack's Army had to settle for a point this week as they drew 2-2 with Borussia Teeth so the final game of the season will now not be a title decider.  Elsewhere Misfits and Shed FC both confirmed they will be in the top flight next season as they were 1-0 winners over Dixy Pigeons and Gylfi's Young Boys respectively.

Division One looks exciting going into the final game of the campaign as Egg Fried Reus and Extra Special Ones will play each other for the second promotion spot.  Egg Fried had to work for the win this week though as they edged past Globogym Purple Cobras  by a goal to nil, if they avoid defeat next week they will take the promotion.  Leaders Wanyamas In Pyjamas also edged past this weeks opponents Rainbow Sparkles by the same scoreline.  Completing the division's action was a 2-2 draw between Kroos Control and Who Ate All Depays in a well competed game.

Division Two saw two entertaining games played as leaders Birdie's Boys were 4-2 winners over Jubilee Juggernauts whilst Backstreet Moyes won a seven goal thriller by 4 goals to 3 over Schindlers Assist.

We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability to the league and wish all good luck going into the final week of the season with Nuneaton's premier providers of small sided football.
