Sunday 26th June - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled barring Up The Tics who had issues getting players to the league, but are due to return to action on Sunday 26th June.

No Cup FC were huge 16-0 winners over Globo Gym Purple Cobras this week as they showed no mercy on the new boys who've had a tough run of fixtures in their first three weeks in the league!  They'll be hoping for a slightly easier time of it next week as they meet Jack's Army although this is not an easy game against the third placed team.  Elsewhere The Allies went to the top of the table as they cruised past previous leaders Borussia Teeth by a 5-0 scoreline, whilst new boys Birdie's Boys were narrowly beaten 1-0 as they met Yerrr in their first game.

Hardly Athletic won the battle of the top two going into kick off as they edged past Emile Sniffs Snow by a single goal to give themselves a three point lead over now second placed Dixy Pigeons, who moved up a place after a well earned 3-1 win over Rainbow Sparkles.  Egg Fried Reus followed up last weeks draw with a 1-0 win this week as they edged past Sky Blue Army to takeaway maximum points, whilst game of the night was undoubtedly the 4-3 thriller in which Extra Special Ones ran out winners over Misfits.
