Sunday 28th May - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up


Leisure Leagues Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6-a-side league witnessed an exhilarating game week 8 on 28th May, bathed in the warm glow of the early evening sunshine. The Bank Holiday weekend brought a vibrant atmosphere to the pitch, with teams eager to secure victory and make their mark in the league.


In the Premier Division, the Misfits, currently sitting in third place, achieved a resounding triumph over Gylfis Young Boys. The Misfits' players showcased their skills, netting five goals to secure a 5-3 victory. It was a commendable performance that strengthened their position in the league standings.


The Allies FC, who had been enjoying an unbeaten run, faced a formidable challenge from the Wanyamas in Pyjamas. In a surprising turn of events, the Allies' perfect record came to an abrupt end as the Wanyamas secured a 3-1 victory. The result narrowed the gap between the Wanyamas and the league leaders to a mere two points.


Tuffnells FC encountered Extra Special Ones in a closely contested match. Despite their best efforts, Tuffnells FC fell short and conceded a 1-2 defeat to the Extra Special Ones. It was a game that showcased the determination and skill of both teams.


In another Premier Division clash, Jack's Army took on the mighty Borussia Teeth. However, the match proved to be a challenging one for Jack's Army as Borussia Teeth displayed their formidable bite, emerging with a convincing 4-0 victory.


Moving on to Division One, Homo Sissoko and Egg Fried Reus engaged in a thrilling encounter. Both teams fought valiantly, but Egg Fried Reus ultimately claimed a narrow 3-2 victory, leaving Homo Sissoko in disappointment.


Rainbow Sparkles faced The Backstreet Moyes in a high-stakes match. The Backstreet Moyes brought their A-game to the field, dominating the game and securing an impressive 4-1 victory. It was a display of skill and teamwork that left Rainbow Sparkles trailing in their wake.


Hardly Athletic, the table-toppers of Division One, clashed with Birdies Boys, aiming to extend their dominant streak. However, it was Birdies Boys who soared to new heights, notching up a remarkable 6-2 win, reaffirming their position as formidable contenders in the league.


Kroos Control FC and Dixy Pigeons treated spectators to an exhilarating match, resulting in a thrilling 3-3 draw. The game showcased the attacking prowess of both teams, leaving fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.


In Division Two, Schindlers Assist faced off against Lad on Toure, the leaders of the pack. Lad on Toure continued their relentless pursuit of victory, securing an eighth consecutive win with a resounding 8-1 scoreline. Their performance demonstrated their unwavering determination and dominance.


Lemon Skittles clashed with Globo Gym Purple Cobras, seeking to make their mark in Division Two. Lemon Skittles showcased their skills and emerged victorious with a well-deserved 2-0 win, adding to their growing reputation in the league.


Unipart United faced Jubilee Juggernauts in a highly anticipated showdown. Unipart United demonstrated their prowess on the field, outshining their opponents and securing a convincing 5-2 victory. The result cemented their position as strong contenders in Division Two.
