Sunday 30th January - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled and some excellent matches played across both divisions, as we got to grips with the rule amendments.

3 Lions were rampant this week as they tore Hardly Athletic apart by an 11-0 score line, giving themselves a healthy goal difference in the first week as they look to retain their title.  Up The Tics ran out 4-2 winners over Cheeky Milandos in an entertaining fixture this week, whilst Yerrr and Jacks Army were 2-1 winners in their matches against Exeter Gently and Borussia Teeth respectively.

In Division One, recently relegated Egg Fried Reus had a tough start to life in the lower division, as they were heavily beaten 8-2 by No Cup FC, whilst Extra Special Ones were convincing 3-0 winners over Rainbow Sparkles.  Another recently relegated team, Misfits faired better in their start in the lower division as they were 2-1 victors against Slide Into Your EDMS.  Last but by no means least was The Purples who came out on top of an eight goal thriller against Dixy Pigeons, winning by 5 goals to 3.
