Sunday 30th October - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

Overall it was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their scheduled matches, with the only disappointment being Globogym Purple Cobras who will be spoken to accordingly to confirm their return on Sunday 6th November.

On the field there were some entertaining fixtures started, with a huge result for The Allies who confirmed the title for themselves with three to spare, as they romped to a 10-2 victory over Who Ate All Depays, giving them a six point lead with only three to play, along with a significantly better goal difference than second placed Dixy Pigeons, who suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Borussia Teeth this week.  Elsewhere, Gylfi's Young Boys looked in good shape this week as they were 4-2 winners over Jack's Army, whilst Ballondora Boys also looked solid as they were 2-1 winners over Wanyamas In Pyjamas.

Division One leaders Misfits already had promotion in the bag going into game week 11, but they showed no sign of letting up as they romped to a 4-1 win over Rainbow Sparkles, whilst Extra Special Ones in third place leave themselves with a bit to do in the final three games if they want to go up, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kroos Control this week.  The Invincibles look set for a mid-table finish after squeezing past Egg Fried Reus by a 2-1 scoreline, nestling them into fourth place.
