Match Report - Leisure Leagues Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6-a-side League - Game Week 8


The early evening sunshine provided the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable week of football in the Leisure Leagues Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6-a-side League. With all 24 teams in attendance, the atmosphere was buzzing as the teams battled it out on the pitch.


Premier Division:


In a dominant display, the newly promoted team Wanyamas in Pyjamas closed the gap on league leaders, The Allies, to a single point with a resounding 6-0 victory over Tuffnells FC. The Wanyamas showed no mercy, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up.


Borussia Teeth and The Allies FC played out an exciting 2-2 draw. It was the second consecutive game without a win for The Allies, who now find themselves just a point clear at the top of the table. Borussia Teeth, on the other hand, showcased their fighting spirit to secure a valuable point.


Extra Special Ones were no match for Misfits, who dominated the game with a convincing 5-1 win. Misfits proved why they are a force to be reckoned with, leaving their opponents with no chance to turn the tide.


Gylfis Young Boys struggled to find their rhythm as they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against Jack's Army. Jack's Army showcased their tactical prowess and clinical finishing to secure a well-deserved victory.


Division One:


Birdies Boys, despite missing the chance to secure a victory, moved five points clear of second-placed Egg Fried Reus, who suffered a loss. The match between Birdies Boys and Rainbow Sparkles ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, leaving both teams hungry for more success.


Egg Fried Reus, aiming to close the gap on the leaders, faced a setback with a narrow 2-3 defeat against Hardly Athletic. The match proved to be a fiercely contested battle, with Hardly Athletic emerging as the victors.


Dixy Pigeons soared to a comfortable 2-0 win over Homo Sissoko, displaying their solid defense and clinical finishing. They showcased their determination to secure all three points.


In an action-packed match, The Backstreet Moyes and Kroos Control FC battled it out, with Kroos Control FC emerging as 5-2 winners. Kroos Control FC's attacking prowess proved to be too much for their opponents to handle.


Division Two:


Jubilee Juggernauts and Schindlers Assist couldn't be separated, as they settled for a hard-fought 1-1 draw. Both teams displayed their resilience, making it a tightly contested match.


Globo Gym Purple Cobras faced a tough challenge against Sky Blue Army, who made a great return to the league with a commanding 5-0 victory. Sky Blue Army showed their intent to make a mark after rejoining the league.


Wootton Street Wanderers couldn't hold off the relentless attacks of Unipart United, resulting in a 1-3 defeat. Unipart United's disciplined play and clinical finishing proved too much for their opponents.


Lad on Toure continued their impressive run with a convincing 4-1 victory over Lemon Skittles. Lad on Toure maintained their perfect record as they continue their dominant form into week 9.
