Sunday 8th June - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some well competed football played.  The only disappointment to this was a no-show from new team High N Wide, who we will be speaking to about this.

In the Premier League, 2 Goals 1 Cup and The Crumble Boys played out a 1-1 draw in a closely contested encounter. Age Doesnt Mateta also shared the spoils with EEFC with the same score line. However, THE ALLIES FC managed to secure a 2-0 victory over Norfolk N Chance, in a game that saw THE ALLIES FC put on a solid defensive performance.

Division 1 saw some high-scoring clashes, with Hardly Athletic edging past Pepe Pig 3-2 in a gripping game. Ligmatip emerged victorious over Borussia Teeth with a convincing 5-2 win, while Dirty Burts Army outclassed Misfits with a comprehensive 5-1 triumph.

In Division 2, Shanti Town FC was unable to contain a rampant Atherstone Town FC, as they suffered a 4-0 defeat. Barely Athletic also recorded a 4-0 victory over Puyol Pants Down, while The Mighty Six and Rubbergently ended in a 1-1 draw, demonstrating the competitive spirit in this division.

Finally, in Division 3, Ricky Spanish FC could not match the power of Extra Special Ones and were overcome with a 3-1 defeat. Salah-vation Army and Tuffnells FC provided an equally matched contest, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
