Sunday 7th May - Walsall Round-Up

Welcome to the Walsall Sunday 6 a side league match report for game week 6 at Oak Park. It was another week of exciting football action, with some high-scoring games and a surprise team withdrawal.

First up, it was Leave Me Arcelona who secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over The Purple Helmets. Despite the Helmets' best efforts, Arcelona's defense held strong, and they managed to find the back of the net twice to secure the win, to really put a cat amongst the pigeons in the standings, as Helmets suffered their first defeat since the league was formed in December 2022!

Next, it was the turn of Odegaardians of the Galaxy to take on Sporting Stonnall. It was a one-sided affair, with the Odegaardians running rampant and securing a resounding 6-0 victory. Sporting Stonnall will be hoping to bounce back in the next game week, whilst Odegaard will be looking to put some consistency together and get back up the table on the back of this result.

In the final game of the day, it was Fat Fuchs FC who secured a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Hardly Athletic FC. The Fuchs dominated from start to finish and showed their opponents no mercy.

Unfortunately, we must report that Reus and Peas have now withdrawn from the league due to a lack of numbers. We would like to thank them for their participation in the league and wish them all the best for the future. However, we are pleased to welcome new team Pique Blinders into the league as their replacement, and we wish them good luck in their upcoming match on 14th May.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league. Should teams need to make contact about their team or the league in general, they can do so by contacting Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340 (Local Rate), or by emailing [email protected].

We wish all teams good luck going into game week 7, and we look forward to seeing more exciting football action from Walsall's premier providers of small-sided football!
