Thursday 11th January - Walsall Oak Park Round-Up
It was a good evening's football in the Walsall Oak Park Thursday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, the only exception being Brownhills Bruisers who had to cancel again, and have now been removed from the league.
We are delighted to welcome new team Inter Ya Nan into the league as a replacement for the above, and wish the new boys good luck going into their debut game!
In one of the most closely contested matches of the night, Boys in Dahoud narrowly edged Ligma Balls FC 3-2, thanks to a stunning hat-trick from their star striker. The loss for Ligma Balls FC, despite displaying a formidable performance, underlines the fiercely competitive nature of the Premier League division in the Walsall Thursday league.
Bryan Munich managed to secure a hard-fought win against Schmeichel Jackson, with a scoreline of 1-0. It was a tough match that saw strong defence from both sides, as the only goal of the game came from Bryan Munich's top scorer.
However, the highlight of the evening was the clash between Smack My Pitch Up and Taccy Rumpas FC. In a display of offensive prowess, Smack My Pitch Up emerged victorious, defeating their opponents 4-2. Their key player, who is also the division's top scorer now, netted two crucial goals that helped seal the victory.
