In a pulsating round of Telford Sunday Football League, week 12 offered a series of close encounters between our sides. With only two weeks left of the season, teams are battling it out to secure their final positions.

The game of the night was undoubtedly between The Colonels and Brexit Beautys, a high-scoring affair that saw Brexit Beautys edge out their worthy opponent by a solitary goal. The star of the game was Tayos, scoring an impressive total of four goals for Brexit Beautys, making him the top-scorer in the division this week. In a back and forth, highly competitive match, both sides threw caution to the wind in a display of great attacking prowess. Free-scoring Colonels notched goals through Harvey, Sam and a double from the impressive Harry. However Beautys were not to be outdone, scoring 5 of their own through captain Matt and the aforementioned 4 goals from Tayos.

In another entertaining game, AUFC outperformed Tea And Busquets in a 2-0 victory. The grit and determination of AUFC were evidenced in the performance of Michael Smith, who was rightfully named man of the match having scored both goals. The result comes as a blow for Tea and Busquets who are still not out of relegation trouble. AUFC move into second place as their strong form continues.

Albrighton CC succumbed to a narrow defeat against Rowdy FC, with the scoreboard reading 3-2 in favor of the latter. It was a much improved performance from Albrighton who could well have won the game had it not been for some fine saves from Rowdy keeper Jack late on. Goals from Cal, Lee and Aaron wee enough to secure the win for Rowdy with Tom and Joe netting for Albrighton.

In the final match of the evening, Inter The Pub found themselves on the losing side of a close 2-1 match against Hardly Learning FC, a result that underlined the competitive spirit and unpredictability of the Premier League division. Both sides were evenly matched throughout and missed chances to add to their score. A classy goal from Hardly striker Andy proved the difference as he grabbed both goals in a man of the match performance. A well taken goal from Stu replied for Inter who were missing a couple of key players on the night. The result moves Hardly into the top 3 for the first time this season and leaves Inter the Pub badly in need of a win to ease their relegation fears with 2 games to go.

With only two weeks remaining, the stakes are higher than ever, as teams strive to cement their positions for the next season of the Telford Sunday Football League. We can't wait to see how it unfolds.
