Telford Sunday 6 a side news 2024-03-31

Play in the Telford Sunday football league powered by Leisure Leagues

In the penultimate week of the Telford Sunday 6-a-side Football League, teams in the Premier League division played their part in some highly absorbing matches.

Inter The Pub triumphed over Albrighton CC with an impressive 3-1 win, as they continued to battle hard against relegation. Their aggressive play and strategic use of the pitch was too much for their opponents despite Albrighton taking an early lead through Tom. Goals from Guus, Ben and Dan R were enough for them to claim a precious win. .

In a gripping match, Hardly Learning FC edged out The Colonels 3-2 in a game that kept everyone guessing until the final whistle. This match was a real nail-biter with both teams digging deep and giving it their all. It was a crucial win for Hardly Learning FC, who continued their push to finish 2nd in the league. Harry and Harvey scored excellent goals for Colonels but it was Hardly striker Andy who took man of the match, smashing a fantastic hatrick to earn his side the 2 points.

With Inter the Pub winning their early game Tea And Busquets knew they needed a victory to ensure they weren't dragged back into relegation trouble. In a feisty affair, Busquets grabbed the win they needed in a narrow 1-0 triumph over Brexit Beautys. WIth defences on top in this one, a well taken goal by Adam proved the difference. Brexit played well and created numerous chances but could not find a way past inspired Busquet's keeper Ikram who once again shone between the sticks.

In the final match of the night, champions in waiting, Rowdy FC stormed to a dominant 5-0 victory over AUFC. With the league title already secured, the Rowdy Boys did not let up with excellent goals from Jay, Cal, Aaron and a double from Connal. AUFC, missing a number of players, could not match their opponents on this occasion despite plenty of effort,

As we move into the final week of the season there are still league places to play for. Tea and Busquets victory unfortunately meant that Inter the Pub and Albrighton CC were relegated to our our new second division. Hardly Learning  and AUFC will battle it out for the runners up trophy going into the final week.
