WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 20TH FEBRUARY

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League.

Unfortunately, we did have two incidents on the night that needed the strongest punishment possible to deal with. For the third time this season there was a problem with 'Wonders FC' which meant to some pretty aggressive and unpleasant behaviour to the staff at the league so the league has made the decision to remove them from the league moving forward. The idea of the league is to be for all the community and give everyone the chance to play each week if you can't respect everyone at the league each and every week then you will not be able to play. That was not the only removal of a team on the night, people to do with 'Bandits FC' were very disrespectful to centre staff when caught breaking centre rules on smoking and going to the toilet somewhere that is not the changing rooms provided by the facility. Because of this I have been forced to remove the team from the league as without the centre we have no booking and this kind of incident puts the league in a negative light and anybody caught doing this will be met with the same action. Although this does open up spaces it is paramount all teams are doing everything they can to respect there opponents, the referees, the centre and the neighbours to the venue on each league night, if this is not done it will be dealt with in the same way and in a swift matter each time.

We also had one non-attendance as 'FC Mil Funters' were not present for there fixture but have already confirmed they ill be back next week. It is paramount that all teams are present each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each and every week, if there are any problems please be sure to let your Area Manager know as soon as you possibly can.

In more positive news, we welcomed two new teams as 'The Pheasant' and 'ECC United' kicked off playing there first game in the league. Both had impressive wins and will be looking to build on this as the weeks go by. Good luck to both teams moving forward!

Game of the evening in the Premier League saw a very competitive 1-1 draw between 'Striker FC' and 'Bigos Amigos' in a game which was very close and if it wasn't for a fantastic performance from both defensive could have been a more high scoring game. It will be interesting to see which team comes out on top when the two teams meet again later in the season. One point splits five teams in this league and that just shows how tight it is looking for the season ahead.

The Division One game of the night was the game between new team 'ECC United' and early league leaders 'Saka Potatoes'. Two evenly matched teams but it was 'ECC United' who came out on top on the night 3-0 to put the cat amongst the pigeons in the league table. With plenty of the season left how much can the new team climb with halfway hitting next week? Next up 'Wolves Nations FC'.

The Division Two game of the night was the game between 'Pendeford Unathletic FC' and 'Barely Athletic'. Two wins from two to start the new division for 'Pendeford Unathletic FC' as they ran out 4-2 winners. They go into the game next week with 'Take Notez FC' full of confidence and looking to make it three of three to start life at the league.

The team of the week are 'Bostin Bliston' as they gained a brilliant result against 'Wolves Nations FC' to go top of Division One. Goal difference splits three teams in this league and as we near the halfway stage we look forward to seeing how the season progresses moving forward.
