WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 20TH MARCH

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League with some fantastic games throughout.

Unfortunately we did have two non-attendances as ‘Barely Athletic’ and ‘Paralytic Athletic’ were both not present for their fixtures. Both have contacted and we look forward to hearing from them to confirm their return this week. It is paramount all teams are present for their fixtures each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible, if you are having any problems please be sure to contact your Area Manager in plenty of time.

In more positive news, the game of the evening this week in the Premier League was an epic 4-2 win for 'Filey' over 'Bigos Amigos' as the two teams fought it out right until the final whistle. After an end-to-end game it was difficult to see who would come out on top, but it was 'Filey' on this occasion. Six points clear with four games to go they are nearly confirmed as champions for the season but need to confirm it in the weeks to come.

Division One gave us some exhilarating games and the third game of the night was the game of the evening as the shares were spoiled between 'The Pheasant' and 'ECC United'. The 2-2 draw was played in a great spirit but was highly competitive and both teams fought hard for the result. With four games to go it will be interesting to see how these two teams get on in the remaining games.

Division Two game of the night was the game between ‘Oldman Asthmatic’ and ‘Take Notez FC’. Two very able teams that played out a great game but it was ‘Take Notez FC’ who were more clinical on the day and came away with the win. Only three points off the top two with four games to go they will be looking finish the season strong to gain promotion for the next season.

The team of the week this week is given to 'FC Mil Funters' as they provided an incredible 4-0 win to climb within one point of the top two! They will be tested next week as they take on fellow top two I chasers 'Bigos Amigos' and will be looking to climb the table again

Apologises to all teams in regards to the league being 20 minutes behind on Monday. A  school game ran late which ate into all the bookings on the night meaning we ran behind. The Area Manager only found out once he was refereeing at another league so could not relay all the information to the teams, sorry for inconvenience this may have caused.
