WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 24TH APRIL

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League direct from Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Sport's Academy.

It was a fantastic evening of 6 a side football in Wolverhampton on Monday which some entertaining matches played across the league to finish the campaign.

Unfortunately we did have two incidents on the night. In the game between 'Take Notez FC' and 'Mil Funters FC’ a spectator from ‘Take Notez FC' decided to enter the field of play and attack a player from the opposition. Violent conduct to anyone at the league is unacceptable and he and the team has be fined £50 and banned from the league permanently as this kind of behaviour is not wanted. We know this is not the first team to be removed from the league this season but it is important that people that do not treat everyone at the league with respect are disciplined in a way that protects the teams that think of the league in the correct manner. In the game between ‘TT Elite’ and ‘Pendeford Unathletic FC’ a player from ‘Pendeford Unathletic FC’ was sent from the field of play for unnecessary abuse towards the referee. This player has been fined £20 and banned for two weeks from the league. It is paramount all teams and players remain in the rules of the league at all times, if not these incidents will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly in order to look after everyone at the league and to give everyone the best of experiences each and every week.

We also had a number of non-attendances on the night which was disappointing heading into the NEW SEASON that will be getting underway after the two bank holidays. We will be in contact with all teams not present at the league and look to confirm their return for the NEW SEASON. It is paramount all teams are present for there fixtures every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as it can each week, if there are any issues be sure to contact your area manager with plenty of notice so they can help if necessary.

In more positive news, congratulations to 'Filey', ‘Bostin Bliston’ and 'TT Elite' who finished the season as winners of their division.  And well done to 'Dangerous Darren', ‘Saka Potatoes’ and 'Pendeford Unathletic FC' who finished as Runners-Up.  There is also congratulations to Ben Wilkins of 'FC Mil Funters', Kie Houlihan of ‘Bostin Bliston’ and Harry Slater of 'Pendeford Unathletic FC' who have walked away with the player of the season awards in their respective divisions. Kie and Harry were also top goal scorers for their divisions and Jim Ward of 'Filey' was the third one. The league winners will be contacted over the coming days in order to decide what they would like their reward to be for their hard work this season for their respective league. The above teams and players will have the opportunity to be entered into their respective weekly prize draw or receive trophies and medals at the league.

We will be in contact with all teams in the coming days to give them there first kick off times for the new season that starts Monday 15th May 2023.

Well done all and bring on the new season!
