WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 3RD APRIL

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

Great to see some wonderful games played throughout the evening during the Wolverhampton Monday League with all teams in attendance as expected.

Game of the night in the Premier League goes to the game between 'Filey' and 'Whykanteiwin', as both went toe and toe and were very close on a number of occasions.  ‘Whykanteiwin’ were able to come away with the win in the end 3-2 which again has stopped ‘Filey’ from confirming they are champions again. The race for the title is still in their hands but with tricky tests to finish the season can they get over the line? The runner up spot is still up for grabs though with three teams looking for that position with two games to go.

The Division 1 game of the night goes to the game between 'Straight Outta Compton' and 'ECC United'. In a very entertaining game 'ECC United' came away with the 3-2 win in the end and therefore are finishing the season strong. With the fixtures to play in the last two games and the competitiveness of the league it's still all to play for in regard to second place in this league. ‘Bostin Bliston’ need open point next week to take the title in this Division but they are confirmed as a Premier League team next season, ‘Saka Potatoes’ will be promoted too if they get the win next week.

Game of the week in Division Two was the game between ‘Pendeford Unathletic FC’ and ‘Take Notez FC’. A closer game than the score line suggests it was ‘Pendeford Unathletic FC’ who ran out 6-2 winners on the night and therefore confirmed the top two for this season in this division. We are still on for the decider when the top two face off in the last game of the season so good luck in your games next time out.

Team of the week goes to 'ECC United' with their performance above, a very commanding performance on the night sees them looking good with the new season on the horizon. Can they continue this good form into the remaining two games of the season?

The league is now off for Easter Monday meaning the league will resume again on Monday 17th April 2023 as the centre is closed. We would like to wish everyone involved with the league a happy Easter and see you in a few weeks.
