WOLVERHAMPTON MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 7TH NOVEMBER

All the latest news for the Wolverhampton Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Our Lady & St Chad Sport's Academy.

A brilliant night of 6-a-side football in the Wolverhampton Monday League.

Unfortunately, we did have one non-attendance as 'Red Dragons' were not present for their fixture. The league will be in contact with the team in the coming days to confirm their return next week. It is paramount all teams are present each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible, if you have any issues, please do not to forget to contact your Area Manager at the earliest convenience.

Disappointing to hear that someone at the centre caught a team smoking an illegal substance at the venue as well last night. Unfortunately, no names were given on this occasion to punish anyone but if all teams can please remember there is NO SMOKING or ALCOHOL to be bought on site due to it being a school premises. We will lose the booking if this rule is not followed so anyone (player or spectator) caught doing anything like this in future will have their team removed with immediate effect. I will be in contact with all team captains to discuss this further in order to ensure we are all acting in an appropriate way at the league each and every week in order for everyone to enjoy themselves every Monday.

In more positive news, Premier League game of the week was between 'Dangerous Darren' and 'Bigos Amigos'. In an end-to-end game it was 'Dangerous Darren's goalkeeper that was the MVP for the night as he was able to help his team to a 2-1 win by thwarting the opposition on multiple occasions. They go into a game against 'Wonders FC' full of confidence and looking to finish the season strong.

Division One game of the week was a cracking top of the table clash and ended in a victory for 'Filey' against 'Barely Athletic' 2-1. The game was evenly balanced throughout but with two goals in the second half league leaders 'Filey' were able to come out on top. Six points clear at the top and six games left can anyone stop them from being Division One champions this season.

The team of the week is given to 'Saka Potatoes' as they have gone fourth, one point off second, in Division One this week after their sensational victory against 'FC Springhill' where the team showed top-class footballing ability to take the win 7-3. They face league leaders 'Filey' next week, can they stop their unbeaten season with another performance like this?

Although the league is currently full there is always space on our waiting list! Sign up today to get involved in the best league going in your area!
