Newbury Monday 6 a side news - match day 8

In the exciting world of local football, the Newbury Monday 6-a-side league entered its pivotal eighth week. With just two weeks left in the season, the competition is heating up across all divisions - the Premier League, Division 1 and the new mini Division 2.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, Philippines FC demonstrated their superiority with a commanding 6-1 win over Class On Grass to climb out zone and dump Class On Grass in it. Other matches saw Team Fun overpower Goal Diggers 5-2 while leaders F-town edged Unathletico Madrid 2-1 in a nail-biting clash. Team Fun are now their closest rivals as they climb to second, a point behind.

DIVISION ONE

Division 1 also saw its share of intense competition. Cuckarella secured a 4-1 victory over Ghs Giants, thanks to a stellar performance from Dylan Crowley, who netted twice, the win seals the title for Cuckarella and a place in the Premier League next season. Elsewhere, Borussia Teeth managed a narrow 1-0 win against Largentina and The Bootcamp triumphed over Dads Army 2-1 to move into the second promotion spot.

DIVISION TWO  

In Division 2 we welcomed four new teams, CK Dons emerged victorious over Uhh I Dunno in a high-scoring 4-3 match, with Stuart Tanner of CK Dons bagging three goals to clinch the top scorer title for the division. Meanwhile, Game Set And Snatch outclassed POTG FC with a 5-2 scoreline, captain Ben Sibley scoring a brace.

The star of the week was Aidan Kriel from Cuckarella, who was named the Most Valued Player, further boosting his team's morale as they head into the final weeks of the season as Div 1 champions.

With just two game weeks remaining, teams are jostling for final positions. As we approach the season's climax, the anticipation and excitement are palpable - ensuring the Newbury Monday 6-a-side league continues to be a must-watch for all local football enthusiasts.
