Great start for Wanyama's in Portchester 6 a side Prem

It was great to see all 16 teams in attendance at our Portchester Thursday 6 a side league especially after England's win over Denmark the night before, finally a semi final win after the disappointments of 1990, 1996, 2018. It's something that has never happened in most of our lifetimes so roll on Sunday! It's Coming Home!

Newly promoted Wanyama's In Pyjamas had a fantastic start to life in the Premier League as they went joint top after an opening day 5-1 win over Happy Sunflowers, Harrison Blake scoring a brace to help them along their way to victory. Champions Sergio Gameos Lee also started the defence of their title with a win but had to work for it. MK Bongs proved tricky opposition, Sergio captain Bailey Steele made his mark on proceedings with two goals to seal a 2-0 win. The other promoted side Who8AllThePie also got off to a winning start as they defeated Furzey FC 4-2. The other match ended in a with a 5-1 victory for HMS St Albans - 42 Man Mass which puts them level with Wanyama's in top spot. Kieran Edwards banging a hat-trick for St Albans.

Weight Watchers went top of Div 1 with an impressive opening day 5-1 win over Chicken Tikkataka. Watchers only just missed out on promotion last season so will be keen to challenge again. Their goalscorers were Jake Hatton 2, Jamie Gall, Camron Gall and Charlie Harris. Both the relegated sides began with wins, Lads On Toure defeating Foxes Forest 5-1 while Haven't Got A Kalou won 5-3 against Jimmy Floyd Bottle Bank. Finally Pants who also just missed out on promotion began with a solid 3-1 win over Fenerbackache.

Once again thank you to all our teams and our match night supervisor Benji along with refs Con and Dave. See you all next week. Oh and not to forget Come On England!!!
