23 out of 24 teams were in attendance for match day 6 last night at our East Cowes Sunday 6 a side league accept for Sancho's who will return for match day 7. It was a warm evening with plenty of great matches on show. Looking forward to some nice weather and no more lockdowns hopefully over the next few months!
Dangerous Dogs and Bacon Sane both went into their their fixture against each other with 100% records in the league so something had to give. Despite two great strikes from Lenny Dunkling it was Dangerous Dogs who secured the win 4-2 with goals from captain Max Foreman, Cam Ring 2 and Jack Davies. The win sends them two points clear of Sane as we approach the halfway point of the season. Netsix & Chill are beginning to find their form as they moved up to 4th with a 5-3 win over No Shot FC. Wkd N Bad remain third as they beat a lacklustre Eskimo FC 9-4 while FC Union Street saw off Bacuna Matata with relative ease 8-0 for their first win of the season.
What a title race Div 1 is turning out to be with the top 3 teams all tied on 10 points. Ryde Raconteurs received a points match win with Sancho's being away to stay top on goal difference. Old McInnes took on new team Ice Island who also compete in our Cowes Tuesday league. In a fantastic end to end game which could of gone either way before McInnes eventually held on for the victory 8-6. Vectis Rovers also on 10 points had Ryan Godley, Tony Pearce and Richard Witham on the scoresheet as they defeated OFOB Strollers 3-2. Applepie Turnovers aren't out of the promotion picture yet either as they won 4-1 against AC Me Rollin. Goals coming from Max Hawkins 2, Liam Ormond and Kai Johnson to stay 4th just two points off the top.
Hardly Athletic didn't let last weeks set back get to them in Div 2 as they produced a solid display to win 3-0 against We Lose Every Week. Boys In Brew couldn't follow up last weeks impressive win over Hardly with another as they went down to a excellent team display by Badder Roma 2-1. Dan Coleman and Ryan Savill scored the important goals to seal the win for Roma. Local rivals Touch Matip and Haven't Got A Kalou took each other on but it was Matip that finally scored the goals that took them to a 4-0 victory. The last result to report on in Div 2 was a share of the points for Muga and HeskeyTime96 as they drew 1-1.
