East Cowes Sunday 6-a-side Football League wraps up an exciting season with some thrilling results last night at Queensgate Primary. The final week showcased the immense talent and competitiveness of the participating teams in the Premier League and Division 1 as well as the dominance of our our Premier League champions, winning 5 title in a row. Here's all the results:
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, Grinding Champs squared off against Milfclarters Utd in a high-scoring affair that saw Grinding Champs emerge victorious with a narrow 9-8 win. Meanwhile, Six Offenders 2 encountered a formidable Zoe's Law team which dominated the match and secured a resounding 50-1 victory, congratulations to Zoe's Law for clinching the title in style, Six Offenders joined the league with just a few games to go so it was tough for them but I'm sure they will fair much better in Div 1 next season. Real Shide also showcased their skills by overpowering Scouting For Goals with a 6-2 win, with Jamie Linington leading the scoring for Real Shide with three goals.
DIVISION ONE
Division 1 witnessed some thrilling encounters as well. CF Lechero dominated AC Me Rollin' with a convincing 10-3 triumph to clinch the title on the final day with We Lose Every Week letting it slip, going down 4-2 to Le Saux Solid Crew, however they still secured promotion to the top flight. Meanwhile, Khedira Pin Drop secured a narrow 7-4 victory against Badder Roma while Robbin Ma Koch shared the spoils with Muga V4 in a 3-3 draw. Ryde Rabbits triumphed over Nyash Wanderers with a well-deserved 6-2 win.
The league also recognized the outstanding performance of Chris Elliott from Zoe's Law, who was named the most valued player of the week for his exceptional contributions to his team's success, scoring 18 goals in the process. However congratulations go to Zak Harris who also went goal crazy on the night, scoring 16 to take the Premier League Golden Boot award for this season with 31. Well done to Steven Deakin of AC Me Rollin who took the Div 1 award with 23 goals. Well done to Graeme Bast who picked up the league's MVP for The A J Way with 5 MVP awards this season.
As the final week of the season concluded, Zoe's Law emerged as the champions of the Premier League, having accumulated an impressive 18 points and secured victory in all nine of their matches, now with 5 titles in a row. In Division 1, CF Lechero claimed the top spot with 15 points and seven wins on a dramatic final day. Congratulations to all our teams this season, looking forward to kicking off the new season on Sunday.
